Laboratory Analyst

Job Summary & Purpose
The job of a Laboratory Analyst is to test and evaluate all Chemical & Physical attributes & characteristics of incoming materials, semi-processed & finished products.

Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities
• Evaluation of raw materials/ingredients, packaging materials, in-process materials and finished products in accordance to established sampling plan and procedures.
• Comparison of actual results against established specifications and tolerance.
• Preparation of necessary documents for releases or rejection of materials.
• Meeting required lead time, accuracy of results, support Just-in-Time project of Materials Department.
• Evaluation of suppliers’ reliability and acceptability of meeting company’s quality requirements.
• Notifying all those concerned regarding a problem situation/variation outside standard tolerance and requires those concerned to take immediate actions.
• Documentation of all evaluation results using established formats such as Laboratory Reports and Quality Advice Notes.
• Highlighting critical and major deviations and recurring minor deviations.
• Recommendations of action plans to the concerned operating units & sections.
• Abiding and implementing HSE, GMPs, GLPs, GHPs, ISO 22000, ISO 9001& etc.….
• Maintenance of lab equipment, glassware and chemical reagents by checking inventory levels and raising the requirements to the Laboratory Supervisor.

Decision Making Authority
Accept/put on hold/reject ingredients, packaging materials, in-process materials and finished products which are found non-conforming to established specifications/standards.

• Bachelor in Food Technology / Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Biochemistry , or relevant Experience
• Knowledge in operating Laboratory instruments/equipment's
• Basic knowledge in statistical sampling data analysis thorough knowledge of health & safety standards MS Office applications.
• Written and spoken fluency in English.
• Arabic language is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of HACCP & ISO 22000
Experience At least 2 years in FMCG and/or food and beverage manufacturing and production industry.
